This February, a touring powerhouse will arrive in town to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day a month early! Yes, you’ve read that right; instead of saving all your green-themed celebrations for March, why not go on an excellent prerequisite banger on Saturday, 17th February 2024?! Why? Because the kings of Emerald Country, Dropkick Murphys, will be making their way into Portland, Oregon! The St. Patrick’s Day Tour is a shenanigan filled with outstanding Celtic punk music, plus performances from special guests Pennywise and The Scratch! This outrageously incredible line-up is the only reason you can celebrate the holiday twice, and it’s coming to the Moda Center! Look forward to fantastic Celtic punk rock staples as Dropkick Murphys performs their career-spanning hits, ranging from 1998’s Do or Die all the way to their latest album, Okemah Rising! It’s a punk tour worth celebrating! Only a band like Dropkick Murphys can turn a spring tour into a cause of early celebration! The St. Patrick’s Day Tour is set to bring all the stops, and lucky fans in the U.S. can look forward to a grand rager worth booking tickets for in advance. The tour makes its way to over 20 cities, including a Portland, Oregon stop on Saturday, 17th February 2024! For their show in Portland, Dropkick Murphys are scheduled to run over the state-of-the-art arena, The Moda Center. Fans can expect a high-powered show packed with awesome hits, like “I’m Shipping Up to Bostom,” “Rose Tattoo,” “The Boys are Back,” “The Warrior’s Code,” and many more! The Massachusettes-borne outfit has long been the most influential purveyor of Celtic music infused with punk rock. The band emerged in 1996 and has steadily amassed a loyal following. So expect Moda Center to be packed to the brim as the celebrated sextet delivers their unique brand of headbang-worthy music!
For their special guests, Dropkick Murphys will be bringing along Pennywise from Hermosa Beach, California. The punk rock veterans have long been an influential figure in the circuit since the late ‘80s. They became prominent alongside punk powerhouses NOFX, Rancid, and Green Day. Expect a fully packed setlist as Pennywise delivers career-spanning staples. The band has released 12 studio albums, including their latest effort, Never Gonna Die, which was released in 2018. But fans are mostly looking forward to songs from 2001’s Land of the Free?, 1991’s Pennywise, and 1995’s About Time. Aside from old-school hits, the band is highly likely to feature a plethora of later fan favorites from All or Nothing, The Fuse, and Yesterdays.
Lastly, the special guest from Dublin is a four-piece band on the rise. In 2023, the band embarked on the Mind Yourself Tour and performed their incredible hits, “Cheeky Bastard,” “Pull Your Jocks Up,” “Another Round,” and “Old Dog.” This 2024, the band will be extending their highly acclaimed trek in addition to supporting Dropkick Murphys and Pennywise on the St. Patrick’s Day Tour.
