TWENTY YEARS OF SILENT ALARM

Formed in 1999 by Kele Okereke & Russell Lissack, the band went through several name changes before “BLOC PARTY” stuck around by 2003. Two years later, they released their beloved debut album “SILENT ALARM” in 2005. Quickly gaining attention for their unique groove, and rocking attitudes, they received massive amounts of praise from critics, listeners, and converted fans. Hailed for the album’s upbeat tempo & passionate delivery, their talent and creativity shines best. Oreke describes the album as borne out of “a nagging youthful urgency,” finding amusement and pleasure amidst the everyday mundane. “Those are the sort of things that can be incredibly touching.”

Awarded “Indie Album of the Year” at the 2006 PLUG Awards and “Album of the Year” by NME, it’s a record that’s most loved by the band’s fans to this date. Their hit single “Banquet” took the 13th spot on NME’s 'Top 50 Singles of 2005' as well. A great start to the band’s momentum, it was a defining album for the band’s career and their place in the indie rock scene.

Joining the tour are the Canadian rockers from METRIC. This time, they’ll be celebrating their iconic fourth studio record “Fantasies.” Playing it in full, get ready for the ultimate 2000s throwback extravaganza. Plus, they’re serving up a sweet set of their greatest hits. Back in 2009, the LP was shortlisted for the Polaris Music Prize for “Canadian Album of the Year” and won a Juno Award for “Alternative Album of the Year.” Making it to #41 on Rolling Stone’s “50 Greatest Canadian Artists of All Time” list, it sure is hard to resist these fellas’ all-out rock anthems.
