Wrapping up a series of shows that celebrated their iconic album’s “Strange Trails” tenth anniversary, Ben Schneider, Mark Barry, Miguel Briseño, and Tom Renaud stoked to head back to the road and perform career-spanning sets of their folk masterpieces. “There is an added emotional element to the live show that totally enhances every song,” Utah Concert Review wrote in a blog.
Formed in 2010, inspired by Lake Huron that Schneider often visited, the once solo project soon took form as a band. Releasing their first album “Lonesome Dreams” back in 2012, the band shared their “old adventure tales,” inspired by ‘70s style film vibes for its videos. The band found their big break upon the release of “Strange Trails,” which debuted on the Billboard 200 at #23, and hitting the top spot for Folk albums. Their sophomore LP featured their mainstream hit “The Night We Met,” used in Netflix’s “Thirteen Reasons Why.” Since then, the band became a quintessential listen for those longing for a taste of folk. As everyone became “haunted by the ghost of you…” these fellas took everyone back to the haunting feels of bittersweet memories.
Fast forward today, Lord Huron just released a new song featuring Kristen Stewart — “Who Laughs Last.” The singer shares, “I’ve always loved the band and immediately sparked to the manic drift of the song and to the mood. I love when a song is something you can kind of seep into and imagine.”
Though word of an official album is yet to be heard, we’ve got a massive tour to attend for now. Relive all these precious memories and bittersweet goodbyes as Lord Huron navigates each of your ‘strange trails’.
