Four-time Grammy Award-nominated country artist Kelsea Ballerini is back with an emotional banger of an album - "Patterns". A follow up to her "Saturn return" album "Subject to Change", she's exploring the nuances of love, and looking back at the journeys it took to reach certain places in a relationship. Sharing new tracks "Cowboys Cry Too" with Noah Kahan, "Patterns", "Sorry Mom", "Two Things", and "First Rodeo", it's one heck of an emotional ride.
On tour, you can expect Ballerini to perform her big hits, some of your fave deep cuts, and a couple of her new songs. Extending the tour with new dates due to "overwhelming demand", she's got a slate of 36 shows scheduled for 2025.
After headlining the Madison Square Garden in celebration of her fifth LP, "It’s been a very slow, steady build for 10 years," she told Pollstar. "And I truly didn’t skip any steps. I opened in clubs and then theaters and then amphitheaters and then arenas. And then I went back and I headlined every single one of those. This is the stuff that I’ve always been really protective of, wanting to do it at the right time, but always really eager to do it and hoping that one day I could. So it feels like a massive bucket list mark off to do this."
Taking it step by step, she's a true artist by heart. Last year, she renewed her contract with Black River Entertainment - a small independent label rooted in Nashville. Marking a decade of success, she shared how they've always been supportive of her vision and desires as an artist, hoping to keep celebrating wins with this family.
"Black River has always handled my music with the utmost care since signing with them over a decade ago," Ballerini shared in an official release. "They’ve never wavered in respecting my vision as an artist, offering me the freedom to be creative and push boundaries. We share our wins and successes like family, and our renewed agreement reflects just that."
With a new album taking over the scene, she clarifies with NYLON that it isn't a love record. "I think the whole record takes you through a very real journey of people that come together... sorting through all that and finding those dynamics that you're able to undo those patterns together. And I think it's a love record. It's just probably not what people are expecting," she shared in the interview.
Not explicitly a love album, it's a record that shares the true essence of what love is. Building and rebuilding relationships, it shines light on the highs and lows of patterns that two people go through. Now, she's all set to bring it to the big stage.
