Pearl Jam is dubbed as one of "the most popular American rock and roll band of the '90s" ranked eighth in Rolling Stone magazine's list of "Top Ten Live Acts of All Time". Still not showing any signs of slowing down, Pearl Jam has outsold and outlasted most of its contemporaries during the grunge movement in the 90s. They continue to churn out new material from the studio, with their most recent album release entitled "Dark Matter", as guitarist Mike McCready describes -- “It's a lot heavier than you'd expect...There's the melody and energy of the first couple of records." And as if that was not enough, Pearl Jam are pulling all the stops in unleashing "Dark Matter" through an explosive world concert tour. Pearl Jam's frontman, Eddie Vedder beams with confidence and pride for their latest masterpiece, “We’re still looking for ways to communicate, says Vedder; "We’re at this time in our lives when you could do it or you could not do it, but we still care about putting something out there that is meaningful and we hopefully think is our best work. No hyperbole, I think this is our best work.”

Pearl Jam was in the middle, front, and center of the grunge storm that was just starting to brew during the 90's, at the grunge capitol in Seattle, Washington. Their big break garage to the mainstream came about during the release of their debut, Ten, in 1991. The album skyrocketed to the top of the Billboard 200 charts and remained stationed there for nearly five years, picking up a 13× Platinum award in the US, and becoming one of the highest-selling rock records ever of all time. Proving they're not a flash-in-the-pan phenomenon, Pearl Jam's 1993, sophomore album, "Vs." set the record for most copies of an album sold in its first week of release as it raked in over 950,000 copies within a week of its release. Third time's a charm for the band with the release of their fourth album Vitalogy (1994), which became the second-fastest-selling CD in history at the time, selling over 877,000 units in its first week. Pearl Jam was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2017; and has picked up a Grammy Award in 1996 for "Spin the Black Circle" winning Best Hard Rock Performance.
